As a Climbing Assistant / Camp Counselor, you’ll play an essential role in our high ropes and climbing program while also taking on traditional camp counselor duties.
During morning and afternoon activity periods, you’ll support campers as they challenge themselves on the climbing walls and high ropes courses, helping them build skills, trust, and confidence.
You'll receive specific ERCA-certified training, ensuring you’re well-equipped to assist and supervise climbing activities safely.
In addition, you’ll be responsible for guiding campers through other camp activities, promoting a fun and positive atmosphere in a diverse, international setting.
General Aspects:
- - Duration: Flexible placements lasting 4 to 12 weeks.
- Training: Comprehensive Camp Counselor training and specialized high ropes and climbing certification under ERCA norms.
- Certification: ERCA-certified climbing assistant training and a valid Camp Counselor Certificate.
- Accommodation: Full room and board during training and placement.
- Stipend: Competitive stipend provided.

Placement profile:
Take your passion for climbing and outdoor adventure to new heights as a Climbing Assistant / Camp Counselor at our Adventure Camp in Walsrode, Germany!
As part of the camp’s high ropes and climbing team, you’ll assist in guiding campers through exciting climbing challenges, all while fostering teamwork, confidence, and personal growth.
In addition to traditional camp counselor responsibilities, you’ll receive specialized training and certification under ERCA norms, gaining valuable skills for future outdoor leadership roles.

Requirements:
- Age: 19+ by the program start date.
- Language Skills: Fluent English speaker; additional language skills are a plus.
- Experience: Prior experience in climbing or outdoor activities is preferred but not required.
- Training: Must participate in intensive Camp Counselor training, plus specific high ropes and climbing training under ERCA norms.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment: Available for 4 to 12 weeks from mid-June through late August.
- Physical Fitness: Comfortable with outdoor activities and physical challenges.
- Adaptability: Enthusiastic about climbing, outdoor adventure sports, and working in a multicultural environment.
