Our Four Pillars serve as the foundation for each World Bound program, providing a distinctive perspective based on the country, culture, and landscape of each location. Climate change has had a particularly devastating impact on extreme regions of the world, such as the Great North, making it a prime location to explore the effects of environmental change on the landscape.
A typical afternoon at Camp
Becoming attuned to the rhythms of the Yukon River involves bearing witness to the dramatic effects of rapid melting seasons, such as the destabilization of permafrost, the staggering sight of tilted trees, the gradual erosion of river banks, and the discovery of sunken cultural sites. At World Bound, we offer a practical, immersive, and skills-based approach that is centered around the needs and experiences of teenagers. Our aim is not to present a bleak or overly academic perspective on these issues but to offer meaningful insights and real-world solutions that empower our participants to become change-makers in their own right.

Alumni of our World Bound Yukon program have consistently reported that the experience is a profound and emotional one, requiring them to draw upon the strong connections they form with both their instructors and fellow participants in order to navigate the complex challenges of climate change.
