Motivation
I believe that one of the most important qualities that I think will make you want to consider me is my enthusiasm for everything; I always try to make the most of every situation and opportunity.
I would define myself as cheerful, open, and sympathetic, and definitely a kids person (in fact, I'm studying to become a pediatrician). I love trying new things (even though oftentimes I'm horrible at them) and bonding with the people I share these experiences with. I hope I'll be able to make myself as useful as possible for everyone around me, and that I'll make everyone's work a little easier! I don't mind taking any extra workload as long as it doesn't interfere with my responsibilities :)
Experience
The past summer I worked as a counselor in a day camp from VillageNiu (a local company) and worked mostly with kids ages 6 to 12, even though some were younger and I also watched over them at times.
I was, in fact, the designated English speaker of the team, so I taught them some English on top of caring for them. It was a 5-week program that I enjoyed very much; the other counselors were a pleasure to work with, and although working with kids is exhausting, it felt extraordinarily gratifying.
I absolutely loved it, and it's what pushed me to look for the opportunity that I'm currently applying for.
Expectations
For starters, I love working with a team when everyone is as passionate about the subject as I am, and I'm hoping to experience that in one of your summer camps. But I must admit that I'm extremely looking forward to many Canadian camp ways that we miss in Spain, such as the bonfire, the cabins, the activities... Our summer camps are also amazing, but very different from yours, and I wish to live them. Finally, I'm hoping to graze a bit of the natural beauty that Canada holds, and to enjoy as much as I can your amazing landscapes; your mountains, rivers, lakes... They're just astonishing!
I speak basic Spanish so I may be able to help with foreign kids. I am a fun and engaging person who really enjoys the camp environment and making a difference in these children's lives. I have experience working as a counselor both with a co-counselor and by myself. I also have worked various other jobs, my current one being keeping children safe while going down a water slide. I also have knowledge of nature.
