Motivation
I speak basic Spanish so I may be able to help with foreign kids. I am a fun and engaging person who really enjoys the camp environment and making a difference in these children's lives. I have experience working as a counselor both with a co-counselor and by myself. I also have worked various other jobs, my current one being keeping children safe while going down a water slide. I also have knowledge of nature.
Experience
I worked as a day camp counselor at Perkiomen Pines day camp in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, USA. I led a group of about 10 kids through activities and routines 5 days a week. I really enjoyed building a connection with the children and engaging in activities with them. The biggest challenge we faced was being understaffed, but me and my coworkers often teamed up to ensure each child was having all their needs met at the time.
Expectations
I want a new experience in a new place and I think working at a summer camp in another country is a pretty good balance of new and what I already know. I expect to be helpful and fulfill my role I am assigned while also connecting with the kids, building bonds, and creating a fun space for them to be themselves. I am excited to see what summer brings.
